About the Area

Located in the middle of the Sunshine State among freshwater lakes, rolling hills and fragrant orange groves, Lake Placid is old Florida living at its best. With nearly 50 spectacular, colorful murals adorning its downtown buildings, you couldn’t find a more unique setting to host an array of exciting festivals and special events throughout the year.

Known as “Caladium Capital of the World,” every July the town comes alive during its annual Caladium festival and plant extravaganza. People from around the state come to enjoy arts and crafts, live entertainment and an antique car show.
