About the Area

Situated on the northern shore of the Caloosahatchee River, Fort Myers offers a unique blend of town and country with a laid back Florida lifestyle.

Less than 10 minutes away, you’ll find the River District, Fort Myers’ bustling historic and cultural center. It has a variety of unique boutiques, charming cafes, restaurants, breweries, art galleries and performing art venues found along brick-lined streets and swaying palms. While you’re there, stroll down to the marina and marvel at the spectacular views, catch an award winning show at the historic Arcade Theater, or grab some local produce at the Centennial Park Farmer’s Market.

Fort Myers is also popular for its endless range of outdoor activities - golfing, fishing, boating, and of course, beautiful beaches. At Lovers Key State Park, you can spend the day walking along a 2.5 mile stretch of sugary white sand, swimming in the warm gulf waters or hiking along Black Island Trail.

I consider myself fortunate to live in Southwind Village. It is a quiet, well-maintained Park with plenty of activities and events in the beautiful clubhouse. In the winter, all of the RV visitors arrive and it’s like having our extended family visiting. I am extremely happy to live here!
